The all-new electric Ford Explorer SUV, the Lightning, was recently revealed in a CGI video.

Ford

The most sustainable and inexpensive Ford model to buy is the Maverick HEV pocket-size compact unibody pickup truck. You can also get the Escape crossover SUV as a regular hybrid or plug-in. And, if you're looking for something even more electrified, check out the current, sixth-gen U625 Ford Explorer.

The fully electric options from Ford include the Mustang Mach-E crossover, F-150 Lightning full-size pickup truck, and the E-Transit van. While the latter two vehicles are mostly used for work purposes, one could argue that Ford is lacking in EVs that are luxurious and focused on passengers. Therefore, the Blue Oval company likely knows that itsMach-E can't meet the needs of larger families when it comes to transportation.

The arrival of a fully electric version alongside the 2023MY facelift for the Ford Explorer is being claimed by the rumor mill, and it is said that this will probably happen sometime around the 2024 or even 2025 model years. However, AutoYa info channel on YouTube has created CGI looks of what they believe the unreleased and unannounced fully electric Ford SUV might look like for people who are too impatient to wait.

We shouldn't take the Ford Explorer Lightning SUV for mid-life cycle refresh too seriously, especially since it's based on real-world models. The CGI expert who designed it did a great job of seamlessly blending the 2023 Ford Explorer version for China with the current design of the F-150 Lightning.

As for options, there is always the traditional unofficial color palette reel, as well as a quick comparison between the current version and the upcoming (CGI) EV variant. So, does it get our CGI hall pass or not?
